Join Glyn Bufton, head roaster at Herefordshire based Black Mountain Roast, for an insightful talk on coffee roasting, the skills required to being a home barista and have a go at pulling the perfect espresso shot and sample one of their delicious espresso Martinis.

Glyn's wife, Gisela spent many visits to coffee plantations in her home country of Colombia to help them source the best Arabica Coffee which is now roasted in their coffee barn in the foothills of the Black Mountains near Hay on Wye.

The company is owned and operated by Glyn and his best friend Lloyd Reed. Bringing backgrounds in science, engineering and hospitality together has been a winning combination for the team.

The session host Matthew has been "submerged" in wine for the last 15 years. Travelling, tasting and working with the fine liquid to gain a vast understanding and more importantly enjoyment from the most delicious juice there is.

The wines on offer in this 45 minute session will all have a focus on minimal intervention with organic and biodynamic viticulture. Discovering why all wines aren't vegan and the difference between wine bottled at source as opposed to in the U.K. Four wines of varying style. Journey through seven delicious spirits as the team take you from field to bottle. This beautiful distillery, based in Herefordshire, offers a fabulous insight into their flavours, spirits and how to serve them.

Lloyd the head distiller of Black Mountains Botanicals has a background in science and engineering before opening the distillery with best friend and publican, Glyn. Having the science background helped aid the development of their award winning spirits, the engineering supporting the design and construction of their two copper stills Twmpa and Trixie and fortunately both have a great palette.

Black Mountains Botanicals is the only field to bottle independently owned distillery in Herefordshire that produces vodka, gin rum and the latest creation, working with the sister company, Black Mountain Roast, to produce a Colombian cold brew coffee liqueur, which makes them the only company in the country to produce their own vodka and coffee and combine it to make Los Cafeteros.
